This place is designed to be an archive of my adventures in the kitchen (or wherever my cooking and baking takes me) that I hope others will want to share. But it comes with a warning: the recipes, techniques and methods used here are, almost without exception, traditional. This food takes time. And effort. Lots of the recipes in here will require you to get your hands dirty (food-y?) and use techniques that cannot be duplicated by machines or in half the time. This is food cooked and baked according to traditional methods, using traditional ingredients, and it is so, SO worth it. This is food designed to help reconnect us with our roots; we have to slow down while we cook and really think about the ingredients and the process. This food is chemistry at its most delicious, with a little history thrown in, and it is designed in the end result to be savoured by friends, family, and those who appreciate the magic that happens in the kitchen.
